Intro

Lesson: Live a life that would be interesting to a complete stranger.

So, the other day I entered the bus and sat next to an elderly man. At the next stop, another man got on the bus and sat on the other side of the man. While I was getting lost in my thoughts the two men started a conversation.

One man began a story about his life in Poland. It included the restaurant he started and eventually sold. The woman he met, loved, and left behind in Poland.

It made me think about my life. Have I done anything worthy of strangers attention for 15 minutes? Am I making decisions now that will lead to triumph or will all my goals be just a dream deferred?

What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?

Lesson Learned: Live a life that would capture an audience. Live a life you would be proud to recount.
